Ali Din has been deeply involved in the channel for over 15 years, forging relationships with key vendors that support the emerging cloud services market including Microsoft, Trend Micro, and NetApp. Ali leveraged these relationships to take dinCloud, a young startup from zero awareness, to being a major player in the cloud services market. Examples include being highlighted during a keynote at Microsoft’s hosting Summit, speaking at the Trend Micro sales meeting on the topic of dual compensation for hosted desktop sales, and participating in the special alliance videos at VMworld through an invitation from NetApp. Ali has driven dinCloud to be a channel-only organization. As any startup might be lured by opportunities to go direct, Ali and dinCloud’s management team have been steadfast in the ongoing support of the channel. The philosophy is deeply rooted - the company will scale only with the help of channel partners. Ali has ensured the company remains vigilant in championing the channel’s widespread use and acceptance. This includes building a two-tier model to support distribution and its reseller base.
